ResPet is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) volunteer-based organization, dedicated to keeping pets in a safe environment during their owner's crisis ultimately ensuring that pets and their families stay together once the owners emerge from their crisis. By working with a network of volunteer advocates, foster care-givers, local crisis lines and services, mental health providers, police departments, hospitals and other shelters, ResPet will be able to re-unify thousands of pets with their original owners after the crises have subsided. We believe no animal should be mistreated or left behind and are working towards a day when no pet has to be placed in a shelter when their owner has no more options for their care during a crisis.
